Global NeuroSurg: The Global Neurosurgical outcomes collaborative

Global NeuroSurg-I

Determining the Global Outcomes of Traumatic Brain Injury: A multi-center, international, prospective cohort Study

Aims

  • To determine the mortality rates after TBI in each participating center
  • To compare the mortality rates of TBI in low-, middle-, and high-income countries
  • To determine the factors associated with mortality following TBI
  • To describe the surgical practices associated with the best outcome in TBI

Outcomes

  • 24-hour mortality
  • 30-day mortality
  • 24-hour Glasgow outcome score
  • 30-day Glasgow outcome score

Study Duration and Team Members

Within the period from June 1 to December 31, 2019, each team (three people) selects a two-week period for data collection with 30-day follow up. Multiple periods for the same team is encouraged. Multiple teams in the same center can participate as long as they will collect data in different 2-week periods. Therefore, the maximum number of the team per center is 12 teams
